Im having trouble figuring out which compounds are more acidic or basic. Im also having trouble figuring out which is more soluble than others. Does anyone have any advice or any videos/study materials they used that made it clear to them.

Chad's videos on Acids/Bases really helped. Cations are usually acidic (unless part of a STRONG BASE) and anions are usually basic (EXCEPT PART OF A STRONG ACID and HSO4-). So when comparing say 1 M of KBr, Al(ClO4)3, CsF, and AlF3; KBr is neutral because KOH is a strong base and HBr is a strong acid, Al(ClO4)3 is acidic because ClO4 is part of a strong acid, CsF is basic because Cs is part of a strong base... Does that make sense? And STRONG ACIDS AND STRONG BASES disassociate COMPLETELY in an aqueous solution whereas weak acids and bases only partially disassociate, making their solubility less.

The reason KBR is neutral is because when reacting with H2O you form, KOH and HBR, hence they cancel each other out, and you are left with a neutral pH of solution of 7, nothing contributed to the pH of pure water. CsF is basic because when reacting with H2O, it forms CsOH and HF, which is a strong base and a weak acid, meaning that the pH will be higher than 7, which indicates a basic solution.

No problem! Chad's videos and his packet is very helpful. I figure if I just know his entire packet, I will do okay.
