Hello all:

Just got a letter in the mail from one of the places I interviewed at. It looks like a tentative contract of sorts- excerpts read:

"After completing their interviews at XYZ University, all applicants for appointment must sign the Acknowledgement statement below."

"I understand that if a match occurs that this establishes a legally binding commitment by the applicant to accept an appointment and a legally binding commitment by XYZ University to offer an appointment."

Obviously this is my first time thru the match process so my question is:

Is this something programs send out to people they intend to rank or is this sent to everyone?

Is this something everyone signed last year for all programs they wanted to rank?

If you don't get this kind of letter, does it mean a program will not rank you?😕

BTW, I'm an Osteopathic student and therefore still eligible to sign outside the match...I just don't want to do it inadvertantly!

Thanks

I don't remember that kind of letter, but it may be just that particular program trying to enforce the results of the match (i.e. you can't bail on that program for another).
