I did a quick search on this and couldn't find anything specific in the anesthesiology forum.
I was a n00b and let my ACLS and BLS certs both expire. They were staggered by a year anyway, and I want it so I can just do the combo renewal course every 2 years and be done with it. What's the process for residency programs? Do you have to come in w/ the recert, or do they assume you need to renew upon arrival? Is it completely program dependent?
I'm in a position now where I have to do the full 2 day ACLS + the 1 day BLS separately as a new provider (sucks.). I was hoping to just be able to do all of those at my ultimate residency hospital a week or 2 before residency starts. Is that reasonable (and is it usually inexpensive for residents)?
My concern is if you have to prove current certs to sign your contract.
