Hey, I am a freshman, taking Gen Chem 1.

So far, we have covered 2 chapters, including atomic structure.

Now I opened ACS study guide, half of the questions were not covered

in the text book.( ( http://www.amazon.com/Chemistry-Molecular-Nivaldo-Jose-Tro/dp/0131000659)

For example there were questions about particles Alfa and Beta.

So does it mean our textbook is weak one?

And how should I prepare for the following exam?

PS I have strong chem background( Abroad HS)

What? You want to start studying for the MCAT right now? A week into your freshman year?

This isn't MCAT related. I don't have any experience with the ACS exam. I think if you have concerns, you need to bring them up with your professor.

Alpha and beta particles are covered in the chapter on radioactivity. It's probably in the later chapters of your book.

ACS = easiest standardized exam I've EVER taken. G. Chem and Organic.

Agreed with the guy above me, not the place for ACS advice/questions.

Grab the ACS review guide for chemistry. It will contain basically everything you need to know to review for the exam. I did very well on that exam after using the guide.

SDN's MCAT section is not a homework/non-MCAT help forum. You would find better help from your school's chemistry help desk, your classmates, and your professor.

Please PM me if you have any questions about this thread being closed.
