Have any of you had any trouble adapting after studying on paper and then suddenly having to take the test on a computer screen?

Is there a demo of the actual software they use as the test center to allow one to familiarize oneself with the computerized format of the actual test?

You can get AAMC CBT #3 from their website for free (https://www.aamc.org/students/applying/mcat/preparing/85158/orderingpracticetests_mcat.html). Using that will undoubtedly help you get used to the computerized format.

Yes, I have had trouble, (in the smallest ways)! When I have a paper exam, I'm used to hunching over, pencil in hand, and getting really into the exam. On a computer, I have to fix my posture and kink my neck upward to view the monitor...

I also am one to mark up paper exams like there's no tomorrow...can't do that on a computer :/

there are eight AAMC practice exams (#3 is free). i suggest purchasing them and taking them under simulated testing conditions when you are finished with content review. they are the exact same format as you will see on test day (although make sure you don't use any of your computer features, such as scrolling on your mouse, ctrl+f, or anything else).

Use your school's computer testing lab. Hopefully, it's a lab that is generally quietish.

But get used to some noise. Cuz the dude writing his EFFIN GRE next to you will be DRILLING INTO HIS KEYBOARD. uhhhhhh

This is unfortunately (but hilariously, in retrospect) true.

Same here.

Just do as much of your practice on the computer. Between CBTs, practice passages, anything you can find digitalized, use that!
