ADC exam 2014

Hi guys. I am a dentist from India and am planning to take the ADC exam part 1 in March 2014. I am very confused regarding the new format. Can anyone please give an insight to the format and also which books to read? As Ia m completely new to this exam process, I have no idea hoe it is conducted. Are 4 months enough for the part 1 preparation?

Main changes in the main system are as follows:
No SAQ questions, only MCQ.*
4 papers, you have to pass all of them to pass, unlike the old process.*
Results will be online.
Deadline is Nov. 15th

Hello ! I' ve graduated from Odessa National medical university ( Ukraine) On diploma it is said : Dentist specialist diploma . I understood that thats enough to start prepare for ADC first part. I want to know what literature is helping you to prepare for this hard examination??? Thank you for any answers!!!))):)

Hi ,i would advise you to not open the seal and send it directly .You do not need to Certify a sealed document.

I'm planning to give my adc exam... But may be an year after.....my question is whether adc has only equivalency exam or we can write the preliminary and do 2 year of study like nbde in USA?plz help me
 
For coaching u can browse ahead acadamy in new delhi in India...I have just seen their website.....and for details of exam you can look for dentalorg.com(study abroad----adc)....can anyone answer me the above question plz....it's urgent

No they don't have a bridging course like in USA .

The mcqs were a pleasant surprise. Very straightforward and related to stuff that a general dentist should know from his daily practice. A word of caution though, some mcqs seem to have two correct answers at first glance and you must think before you put one down. So, not hard just confusing.

The seqs are easy. You get a clinical case with radiographs etc.

All straightforward. After the exam we were joking that instead of checking your dental knowledge ADC checks your command of the English language. While going through the questions afterwards it became apparent that ppl gave wrong answers just because they did not completely comprehend what was asked of them.

My advise..do not underestimate this exam. It is tough and I studied for two months which was not enough preparation. I found a lot of questions came from Boucher's MCQ. The short answer questions, at the time I felt I did OK, but obviously I did not provide the answers they were looking for. This is where I feel a group support would be beneficial.
