AdComs of SDN what cases are you aware of where an acceptance has been rescinded after the student attended the Second Look?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Am wondering if it has happened in the past, and what was the case like.

I bet there have been cases that are so egregious it's happened before. For example, a lot of schools second look includes an informal "night on the town" with older medical students. I would find it hard to believe that never in the history of 2nd look days, an accepted student has done something bad enough to be rescinded (example: getting drunk and being egregiously racist/sexist etc, inappropriate touching, etc). Just as an example.

Is this an actual concern of yours, or just fueled by curiosity? Be polite. Refrain from inappropriate physical contact. Don’t get hammered. View the weekend as an opportunity to meet your classmates/strike up some friendships. That’s mostly what it’s for anyway.

Can confirm – my respect for my school magnified thousandfold after the incident, and I felt it was handled briskly and professionally. (Prospective student groped several current medical students whilst out on the town – we all came forward to the adcom and presented our experiences. I can only imagine their behaviour was equally degrading to their coapplicants).

Just be the normal, respectful human that you are. Nothing magical beyond that. I had an utter blast at my SLW and ended up meeting some of my closest friends (and roommates of 4 years!) there.

Not planning anything. I'm wondering if it'd be better to skip the Second Look in case the school suddenly realizes I'm not as cool as they originally thought i was.
I'd look at it like this -- anything that would get you rescinded at Second Look would also get you rescinded after matriculation, wouldn't it? I'm sure if you reframed the question to cases where an acceptance was rescinded after classes began, you'd get the same type of responses. Are you planning on doing med school online? 🙂
