Do I need more clinical, non-clinical, or am I good in this department ?

I am currently employed as a medical technologist working in blood bank (3 yrs.) , and did 6 months (32 hrs/ week) of clinical rotations at a large children's hospital (undergrad). Most of my patient contact came during the 6 months of rotation 40 hrs phlebotomy rotation at another hospital and numerous specimen collections, some OR time, observing apheresis procedures, and I would say a significant amount of time spent interacting with nurses, pathologists, clinical microbiologists and oncologists.

As far as non-clinical volunteering I spend 4hrs a week at a hippotherapy center, which is really important to me, I have a nephew who has done treatment for years as he has cerebral palsy. Will probably have around 250-300 hrs.

If I shadow my mother's oncologist and my primary care provider, would you look at all this and get the impression that this applicant has put significant thought/effort into the process , and has a commitment to serving others?

Thanks for the reply goro and I apologize for being dense, but did you mean yes I need more volunteer experience or answering yes to the latter part of my post? Thanks again for being such a legend!

It wouldn't hurt to do a little shadowing if you have the time/inclination, especially if you're applying to DO schools and need a DO letter, but your clinical experience is well above average. No need to worry on that account.
