Add future job on application?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Ooh, I have the same question! Are we allowed to enter in ECs and leadership positions that we know we will have fall semester?

I'm in the same position, I was offered a part time adjunct position teaching intro bio lab courses this fall.

Hey guys,

any way to add a future job to the application, before actually starting it?

I was offered to teach as an intro-bio adjunct, but that doesn't start till the Fall semester. Is there any way to go about this?

Thanks!😍

imagine one day you'll be a dentist, are you gonna put that in ur application too? you see how silly that sounds lol

no, you don't put "future" positions in your application... it makes it seem like your trying too hard to impress someone

You should check with the schools that you are planning to apply to...
...unless your prof is part of adcom, then I guess it's ok.

I had a similar question regarding some volunteer dentistry work; I have already done 50 hours of shadowing (I know, it's not a lot, but it's something) and am planning on starting to volunteer at a local reduced-fee clinic in my hometown in 2 weeks (I had previously committed to work with a previous employer up to this date, so I couldn't start any earlier). I called UT-the school I REALLY want to go to, since I'm a TN resident-and asked whether I should wait to submit my app until I started and got some dentistry volunteering hours under my belt or if I should go ahead and submit. They said to go ahead and include it on my dentistry/shadowing section, but note in the description that I hadn't actually started the volunteer work yet. In my opinion, as long as you are honest about everything you put on the app and don't try to be dishonest you'll be fine.
