My gut also says that would be 1 hour immediate use if made (made = vial is attached to add-vantage system) in a non-sterile area. But I do remember at one of my hospital internships we would leave Zosyn "kits" of a vial and mini-bag plus system, and pretty sure we labeled them use within 4 hours of reconstitution.
Did they also do the 4 hour extended infusion for Zosyn? Maybe their way of getting over complaints of "how do I infuse this over 4 hours if it expires in 1 hour"?
Anything made outside the hood is immediate use.
What we do sometimes is attach them in the hood (not activated) and load them with that expiration date.
Id imagine the zosyn kits said 4 hours due to the extended infusion, but theyre for immediate use only as well.
