I wouldn't use them personally. They're prescription meds and don't do anything a few cups of coffee or a 5 hour energy bottle won't give you.
haha, the 5 hour bottles...I don't know if those work...saw them in this one place...they are priceless
I'm with this guy..use crack... no not crack dat pat... actual crack.
LOL
If anyone needs drug to get through the DAT, then good luck with your life...still have NBDE I and II coming up...oh and years of work after you graduate, the time when depression will start kicking in.
P.s She Got A 23 On Pat, She Took A 30 Milligram Right Before The Pat And She Said The Angles Came Out Of The Screen, The Hole Punching Was Like Playing Tix Tac Toe With A First Grader, And She Was Able To Turn All The Figures In Her Head. She Finished With 18 Minutes Left.
Sorry if it sounded that way but those of us who say "if you need drugs to study.. good luck with your life" isn't saying it to those who really need it but to those who's taking advantage of it.I find these comments a bit harsh. Many people DO need these drugs, people who are prescribed them (and depression meds as well)... I can see condemning people who illegally obtain drugs... but to say "if you need drugs to study.. good luck with your life" is pretty harsh... but thats just my opinion.

Since I have heard so many pre-med and medical students take it, I was just curious to see if this is going on between pre- dentals too or not?
I personally do not need any kind of stimulant to study; even coffee makes me so agitated
the only difference between adderall and coffee is that the government decided one has to be prescribed. adderall is the devil but coffee is just coffee? i could ask you guys, if you need coffee to study dat, how are you gonna get through "4 years of packed graduate level science courses"? how would you reply? duh, by drinking more coffee. so how would the kids who relied on adderall to do well in college and dat? by continuing to take it. a lot of self-righteous people here...
yeah i read that paper on new england journal of medicine that said adderall makes you focus and cram but hinder retaining the info compared to other substances like caffeine, energy drink, and orange juice which actually helped the subjects retain more info.it seems that this drug helps people focus and cram for short periods of time to memorize information, but is inversely porportional to actually retaining the info........which is important after Dental School for a life long career in Dentistry
i agree there's difference in potency but it's ok for the big boys. my point is, there's no difference between someone drinking a four pack of redbull or quadruple espresso shots like water and someone taking an adderall. except that one is "legal" and the other is not "legal" but maybe you like the government making those decisions for you. the potential for abuse is null cuz people abuse non prescription drugs all the time. besides very few people take adderall as a recreational drug and even if they do it's just a desperate attempt and nothing comparable to the high you get from morphine.dependence on adderall as a performance booster probably isn't the best idea. It can have a lot of side effects: sleep problems, loss of appetite, etc. The difference between caffeine and adderrall are that they are different chemicals; they have similar effects, but there is a huge gap in potency. It would be the same as saying the only difference between ibuprofen and morphine is that the government decided one has to be prescribed. Hey, ibuprofen and morphine have similar effects as they're both painkillers. The difference is in the potency and the potential for abuse.
you guys are all posting on here like you are saints. Adderall isnt even a big deal. Ive taken it before to pull all nighters for classes. Personally, i think it works. You get focused and get shi* done. Ive taken it about 5 times and I wont do it again though (appetite suppressant, no sleep). Its really not that big of a deal. Chill out and stop acting like sheltered children.

I am one of those. After discovering recently that I have EVERY symptom but one for ADD, I will have to take adderall/ritalin or possibly something stronger to be able to study, otherwise I will just keep wandering off into lala land as soon as I start reading. I am going to make an appointment to see my physician tomorrow morning, hopefully they give me my medication ASAP, because I can't take this much longer, and I definetely can't afford to keep buying cases of Red Bull/Spike. For people like me, adderall is much needed. And yes, I do realise its risks and know much about the dependancy.
Like you as soon as I look down to start reading my book, I look up about 20 seconds later.
cry babies ... haha ... how does disagreeing with taking a controlled amphetamine illegally to perform at an unnatural level make any of us cry babies?? Maybe we should let the athletes in the Olympics get all roided up and then compare it to drinking coffee or a mountain dew. Do you really believe that having a world full of doctors addicted to amphetamines would be a positive thing? Maybe im just being a cry baby and should jump on board and start a daily adderall routine asap so I can keep up.
