I know that if you try to add on a lot of things (shadowing, research, etc) before you apply it looks bad. However, recently the hospital/medical school redid their research department and got a lot more funding. There are some really cool research projects I want to join, but I'm nervous adcoms will just see it as me trying to "check boxes" at the last second.
I have previous research experience, but nothing like this where it would be on going for at least a year.
Advice?
