As a DPM, which of the following areas does a DPM degree automatically certify you to do?

If not, how would one pursue further training and certifications in the following areas as a DPM??

1) Diagnostic ultrasound
2) endoscopic plantar fascial releases and extra corporeal shockwave therapy
3) using hyprocure titanium implants to correct flatfeet and hyperpronation
4)Advanced Laser Techniques
5)Endoscopic Plantar Fasciotomy Techniques (EPF)
6)Endoscopic Decompression for Intermetatarsal Neuroma Technique (EDIN)

Your training not your degree is what qualifies you for all of these things. The only thing that you are not required to prove training is ultrasound. But if it is going to be used diagnostically it is extremely user dependent. If you don't have the experience you won't be able to use it as needed.

The DPM degree doesn't certify you to do any of these. Your residency training will determine which you can do.

after you become a board certified podiatrist by the ACP (see note at bottom). you will be able to do any of these. your residency will train you hopefully in all of them and if not you'll have to find another way to learn them, by courses, fellowships or watching your pod friends. there is no certification for these techniques.

the ACP will be the American College of Podiatry and the board will be the American Board of Podiatry. hopefully this will happen by the time you finish residency. this would mean that the American board of podiatric surgery (ABPS) and american board of podiatric orthopedics and podiatric primary medicine (ABPOPPM) will have merged to form one board and one college.

I am assuming that the American College of Podiatry (ACP) will be the result of the merger between American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) and American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopedics & Medicine (ACFAOM).

You don't need residency training to do diagnostic ultrasound.
