i am in the process of getting my drivers license suspended, i wasnt arrested or involved in any furthure trouble just a couple month suspension. Its going to show up on my record for certain and I would like to ask anyone if they feel it would stop me from getting into pharmacy school. Other than this one time thning I literally have a perfect record (not even a parking ticket); and am a pretty good citizen/voluntee/person what does anyone think

Nobody here is going to be able to help without more info about the "thing". I'm guessing it had to have been semi-bad for them to suspend your license. They don't just going around suspending licenses for s*its and giggles. So, it may affect your chance at admission, but where it really might affect you is getting your intern and/or pharmacist license.

It depends on the circumstances. Mine was suspended...oooohhhh...14 yrs ago for too many speeding tickets. 22 points spanning 3 or 4 States. Yeeesh!

Well, since I am sooooo much older, wiser, and <ahem> mature, they overlooked it.

I did have to explain it and use my big words though.

Speeding tickets are no biggie to me, but this dude says he's never had a parking ticket, so I wonder what it's for.......😕😕

Actually, in my state (NV), they can suspend your license for something which in my opinion, could be quite trivial. My boyfriend got in a minor accident (the guy's car wasn't even damaged), and a year later he got a letter from the DMV saying that they haven't received some minor paper work that he didn't even know he was supposed to send. So they gave him a total of 2 business days to get it straigtened out before they suspended his license. Turns out his insurance company couldn't provide him with the paper work, so he didn't know what to do. He called the DMV only to get an answering machine; they didn't call him back until after the deadline. He finally did get it straightened out, but his license was suspended for about 5 days or so. And I don't see how it was for anything criminal--just procedural bullsh*t to me.

Well if you are truly worried I would consider seeking legal counsel. Also, you do not have to state anything on your applications unless you were convicted. Also on applications they ask you to tell why if you answered 'yes' to the question, so you would have your chance to explain yourself there. The arrest would show up on your record, but you can have an arrest expunged from your record. You can have misdemeanors/felonies expunged from your record depending on what state you live in, but you usually must wait a certain number of years depending on whether it was a misdemeanor or felony.

Hope that helped you some.

Could be for lack of child support payment??? Some states will revoke a DL because of that. Which isn't criminal. Not sure how a school would look at that, but I don't think the govt. will give you a stafford student loan in that case.

I'm almost experiencing the same situation. I just started driving a little over six months ago, got three tickets for speeding and tickets exceeding $200. I took one driving education course back in Dec. Now I cannot take another course until this Dec. So the two speeding tickets totaled eight points I think. 😱

What happens when you try to reinstate your driver's license after it has been suspended? Does the process take 5-7 business days to clear so you could drive again?
