Adrenal Medulla vs Adrenal Cortex

Is there a good mnemonic to dissociate the 2.

As for location it's much easier to know that the cortex is more external to medulla (like the cortex of our brain vs the medulla of our brain). Same for Kidneys that have a cortex portion and medulla portion.

this is how i remember it:
adrenal medulla is the core of the adrenal gland and gets activated by sympathetic nerves in times of acute stress ==> you shake it to the core (like if you found out your MCAT is tomorrow rather than a month)
adrenal cortex makes corticosteroids = aldosterone, cortisol, testosterone, etc.
these are probably not that helpful, but that's how i remember it
