I need some advice on when to schedule Army ADTs for the MSIV year.

My school's rotation schedule is as follows:
Rotation 3 (Aug 26 - Sept 23)
Rotation 4 (Sept 26 - Oct 21)
Rotation 5 (Oct 24 - Nov 18)

My question is, since we get 2 ADTs, should I schedule them for rotation 3 and 4, or rotation 4 and 5. I realize the closer to selection day, the better, but is rotation 5 getting too late?

Thanks for the help.

I read somewhere that the "generalized" interview cutoff is Oct 15. So for rotation 4 you should probably interview early in the rotation.

The main problem with rotating in July is that that is when all the new interns and residents begin, so things may run less smooth, and much of the attendings' and senior residents' attention is paid to them. For some specialties (like Anesthesiology) it can really suck, because the CA1 that you will inevitably be paired with will likely not let you start the IVs or get many intubations, because they need to learn how, too. Although, if you are able to swing a subspecialty rotation, in an area that an intern or junior resident is less likely to start off, then you may be able to get some extra face time with the attendings/fellows.

Currently, I have 2 ADT requests in: one in July, the other in August. July is a subspecialty. Maybe, I'll see if I can switch July to September. That would involve moving my last remaining core until Nov/Dec. I was afraid of being on a strict rotation during interview season.

Thanks for the replies.

Ok so I'm in a similar situation. Short of it was that I didn't have the opportunity to attend OBLC after either my 1st and 2nd year of school so I will be attending the summer between my 3rd and 4th. After which I have a mandatory month off in which to study for step 2. Then I have a surgical selective and a medical selective

So time line looks like this
4/11-5/06 FM
5/09-6/03 Elective
6/13-7/26 OBLC
8/01-8/26 Mandatory study month
8/29-9/23 Selective
9/26-10/21 Selective

Now is doing an audition rotation at my #2 spot from 5/9-6/03 too early because I was going to do an audition rotation with my #1 spot from 8/29 to 9/23 but I worry that that is too late.

Any help in this matter would be great. Thanks!
