Also waiting to hear back from a few NY programs but I’m expecting rejections. I’ve heard they usually don’t interview people out of state unless you know someone.

I got an email from program director at Columbia about 2 wks ago that asked for clarification about something in my app. So I know they were at least reviewing applications at that time. Im also waiting on a few NY programs

I am interviewing at Yale soon but I looked st the website and it says the program is 2 years, does anyone know if this is true or is it 2 years if you want to do a research year

I am currently in a general cardiology fellowship on the East Coast and would like to pursue an advanced HF fellowship in California (for personal reasons). Did you all feel that programs had a preference for 'local' candidates and usually did not extend an invitation to a fellow who trained 3k miles away?
That was my experience when I applied for a general cardiology spot so I am wondering if that rule still holds for the advanced fellowship.
