Look at it this way ,, you had time to enjoy your stay in the US without diving right back into your books.Personally I think it was good that you chose not to take it right after you landed here
You have good scores by just any std's so dont let yourself down. Its just that there are too many applicants & very very few seats making life diffcult for all of us.
Most schools do say that they would also consider part 2 if you have already given it, How that works is if they have 2 appilcants with the same part 1 scores ,experience etc , then they would choose the one with both part 1 & 2, But if they have someone with good part 1 scores & one with ok part 1 & good part 2 scores they'd still prefer the one with a better part 1 as that was a "requirement".
The best way to find out if you have a chance is to contact someone ( student) from that school & ask for the last yrs cut off score ( not the one they mention on the website), most schools stick to their avg scores & schools with tech test give a lot of weightage to the practical skills. (Lomalinda,UOP,USC,UCSF, UCLA)
