If you want to go into private practice, is doing advanced worth the extra year? do most advanced cases end up getting referred to academic centers anyway? in terms of income potential, is there a business case to do a year of advanced or is it really more of an academic-focused fellowship?

In my city there are 5 people doing advanced endo (that I know about). One of them is at the University. The other 4 are in PP.

reimbursement fro ercp and eus have come down drastically. There all gloom in gi now....
