so i consider myself extremely fortunate to not have had anything crazy terrible happen in my life, and so for the purposes of this prompt I have absolutely no idea what to write about (don't want to sound whiney / ungrateful on anything). anyone in a similar situation have any tips?

Nobody leads a charmed life. Introspection is a required trait for a doctor.

@Goro : what general level of "hardship" for an event would you consider adverse enough?
The prompt is not about about if you had cancer, losing your parents, not being picked for the school play in kindergarten, or your house burning down.

It's about how you have dealt with the setbacks of life (but NOT anything academic).

@Goro : does the thing you choose need to be from college & beyond or can you choose something from earlier (eg childhood, middle/HS)?

I'm personally not interested in hearing about childhood issues. I want to know how you, the adult, deals with adversity, how you display your grit and coping skills.
