Brief Background. 3.4 cum, 3.15 science, MCAT: March 23rd. Retaking all of my courses this semester that I had previously made C+ in with the exception of organic which comes out to be 24 hours. Planning on applying this summer. I am struggling in Gen Chem 2 after test one (the teacher is known to be tough) made a C in this same course last semester. Would it look bad if I just withdrew from the course? Would that be better than just making another C+ (just say I don't improve from this point forward)?

In my opinion, it may look bad to have a withdrawal on your record in a class you previously did poorly in. It would most likely come up in an interview, and may show that you cannot handle a class (if anyone disagrees, feel free to). How difficult would it be to keep going with the course or increase your grade after this test? If you can pull at least a B in the class I think that would be sufficient. Also, you said with the exception of organic. Did you take an organic course and get a C or C+ in it? If you did I'd highly suggest you retake that because that's a class that's looked upon very highly with schools.

Yes it will look bad. There's no reason to not get an A in a class you've already taken.

I took gen chem 2 three times before finally getting a B in the class. That class sucked.

depending on what you get on your MCAT, you might be ok for applying to DO schools.
