Hi, I am looking for some advice. I changed specialties from obgyn (intern) to general surgery but unfortunately I was only able to get a preliminary spot this year. Besides excellent letters of recommendation from my prelim year, do you have any advice as to how I should proceed?
Thank you.

Hi there,
As you move through your pre-lim year, do very well. Also, let your program director and faculty know that you are interested in a categorical slot in surgery so that if something opens up, you will be considered.

You should get back into ERAS as soon as possible and needless to say, you need to do very well on ABSITE. Good luck!
