Hi, I just received word that I was accepted to SGU. As far as stats go, my GPA is okay and my MCAT score is average with a high writing score (SGU weighs all four scores [V,P,B,W] equally). However, I have extensive extra-curricular activities, research background, extensive volunteer activities, awards and 3 publications in good journals. SGU is actually a backup for me as that I'm waiting for US schools, but I did know a couple of people who went to SGU and did very well on boards and had excellent residency matches. I was actually debating between going to SGU or doing a one year Master's program at Georgetown. So confused?? But I hope this helps. Oh, interview is a big thing because I think they only have 250 spots available so if you don't get in for august, you could be bumped for the january class.
