I was wondering if I could get some advice on what to do for the upcoming year. I graduated this past spring with a non-science bachelors degree, but with all of the course requirements I need for med school (one or two more, even). I'm looking at taking two gaps years because I did not apply to med school this round. I haven't taken the MCAT yet, but I have done very well on diagnostic ones, scoring around 28-29 on two of them. My science and math GPA is close to a 3.8 and my overall GPA is a 3.9. I did not go to a top-tier university.

My question is this: I have will start working in the ED at a local hospital soon and was wondering if I should go back to a local college and pick up biochemistry I & II. I'm also a certified pharm tech and am trying to find some part-time employment. Would you recommend that I just work and volunteer, or should I go back to school and still try to work?

I am assuming you would be a part-time student. If you are only taking two classes, I totally see it being feasible to work along with taking those classes. Might as well pay per credit than being a full time student.
