I'm sure this has been discussed before but I couldn't find a good recent thread about it..

Basically 2 of my letters are in except for 1 from a very busy doctor. I met with him a month ago and gave him all of my stuff. Then a few weeks ago I sent him a thank you email with the ERAS cover sheet, hoping to prompt him. No response.

Not sure what to do from here...... I hate these situations. :meanie:

Tell him that the deadline for submission in processing letters is coming up at the end of the month and you'd like to be able to apply right when programs open. Just be courteous and respectful in your response.

I emailed some of my letter writers this week and asked them if they had everything they needed for my letter. I asked them to let me know if there was anything missing or if they had any questions. This seemed to work out well.

A snail mail thank you letter may be more effective. If your letter writer gets as many emails as I do, then it's very easy to forget about it.

Yeah I've thought about this and think it is a good idea.

Soo... Snail mail versus repeat email... What a dilemma.

I'd start with a repeat email. If that doesn't work, a snail mail letter would be reasonable.

It's a source of stress for pretty much everyone going through the application process, but one way or another everyone gets through it.

Buy doughnuts for the physician's secretary.

All kidding aside, my admin assistant keeps me in line. Residents know to bring her time sensitive stuff, and it gets done (by me).

a somewhat tangential question. I have one out of my three LORs still pending. Can I still go ahead and submit my application on sept 15 with the two and submit the third later if it doesnt arrive on time or should i wait for all three to arrive before submitting my app.

Definitely submit it on the 15th regardless.
