As the current year comes to a close, many residents have multiple questions about so many non academic issues

1) Employment contracts
2) Credentialing
3) Work/ Life Balance
4) State Licensure issues
5) Malpractice..pitfalls
6) How to go about setting up a practice..

If you have any questions about any of the above or if you just want honest advice, and not the cookie cutter stuff your used to contact me..and Id love to help out..

All the best to the graduating residents and soon to be attendings..Congrats you have earned it

It's a long ways away for me, but I am very interest in any practical advice about employment contracts. I have heard that fresh physicians often get the short end of the stick when signing a contract as many of us (myself included) will have never had this experience before. Any specifics traps or pitfalls to watch out for in contracts? Is there a particularly good time during the last year of training to begin looking for work? Best to use any specific job listings vs recruiters?

Thanks a lot!

Make sure your specific duties as well as privileges are spelled out in your contract. If you were promised something, make sure it's in writing. Horror stories float around about privileges that were promised but then some excuse arises, or told something like "we'll figure it out when you start" regarding max # of patients per day, etc.
