Okay,
so I did not match ;-(...any advice for tomorrow? Will this be a numbers game or who knows someone thing? How Do you think all programs will be filled within 30 minutes or something crazy. I do not want to get my hopes up, but I feel like I don't have any good advice at my school (for most of this process...which is why this site has been phenonmenal).
Thanks for any advice/realistic answers and congrats to all who matched, I had a drink for you tonight lol!!

Best of luck mp2006..and anyone else scrambling tomorrow. :luck:

i am not the best one to suggest anything with details, however if you have person at your school in rad onc who can make calls, this will help enormously. good luck.

First of all, did any of the programs that you interviewed at have unfilled spots? If so consider contacting them first. If there is anyone within the field that can call or email on your behalf that would help. Do you have an internship lined up? If so does that hospital have a radiaition oncology program that maybe you could possible start a research project and/or possibly complete an elective. Conducting research during your internship year is extremely difficult but it can be done. The real difficulty is getting time off to interview during the intern year. The other option is to go to a "Big Name" institution and conduct a year of research and cultivate contacts in the field.Hang in there hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Best of luck. I was in your shoes 4 years ago and I got lucky the second time around
