Hi, my fellow SDNers. Can you guys please please help me?
So far, I had my interviews at Pittsburgh, Nova, and Case, all of which, went pretty well, or so I thought. But just this week, I got waitlisted at Nova and denied at Pittsburgh (haven't heard from Case yet) And I'm sure some of you know how that feels. Yes, it was quite... discouraging, and I'm starting to panic and have doubts about myself.

I thought I had decent and well-rounded stats. I thought my interviews went well. Even the interviewers told me not to worry, that I'd be fine. But here I am, still with no acceptance letters from any of the schools.

I have an interview at UoP on 2/2, and I believe it's going to be the last interview given the time period. Thinking that UoP is my hope, I'm about to go through a mental meltdown. What are my chances? I heard that they like really high PAT scores. I have a 26 (and 23 AA/TS). But then again, I'm an international student. Do they accept most of their interviewees?

Most importantly, how should I prepare for UoP interview, specifically? Any tips? For prior interviews, I was blatantly honest. I tried to emphasize my strengths, but wasn't really hesitant to show my weaknesses either. For instance, I told the interviewer at Pitt that I'm rather a introverted person, and that I prefer to work alone. (I sugar-coated it, but still, that's pretty much what I said.) I'm sure the atmosphere would be relaxed and friendly, but can you give me some practical tips?

I've read that they accept pretty much 100% of their interviewees 🙂 Just don't be a freak or something at your interview and you're good to go! lol Good luck!

Uop accepts most of their interviewees. Just know your app inside and out, and have a good 20 questions to ask them, the process at uop involves you asking them more questions than them asking you. Good luck.

First of all, congrats on getting an interview at arguably the most sought after school in the nation (no pressure though 🙂). Second of all know your own application very well because that will probably be where they get a lot of questions from. Thirdly, be careful about being blatantly honest. Be very very hesitant to show your weaknesses. Put your best foot forward. Be confident but at the same time choose your words carefully.

I did pretty well this cycle with interviews I think because I looked at interviews as an opportunity that they give you to screw up an acceptance, not as an opportunity to win an acceptance. If they're interviewing you they already like you, they just want to make sure that you aren't anti-social or crazy. From what I've read, UoP is all about getting people who fit in well. Read about there humanistic approach. I would highly advise you not to say, "I'm rather a introverted person, and that I prefer to work alone." Don't even hint at that. They are interviewing you to see if you will fit in and will be a welcome member of the class of 2015. If you hint at the fact that you, essentially, don't like to fit in, that's not going to help.

Yes UOP seems to accept almost all of the interviewees... That had pre-dec interviews. After the initial dec acceptances they interview ppl to fill in the remaining spots as well as alternates. They will still accept a lot of post dec ppl but it might be for an alternate spot. So you must shine during your interview so that if there was ever an event where they decide to give you an open spot or put you on the alternate list, you get into the correct group.
