Hello,

Ive been accepted at a Community College.

I plan on studying all my General Education to get that out of the way, because I heard you shouldnt take the pre-requisite's or any science courses at a CC.

Problem is.....

Im absolutly terrible at math... Im good at general math like multiplying, dividing, fractions ect.

But anthing beyond that im no good. I dont even know Algebra!

I want to be a Dentist SO bad, I even have dreams of being one, literally lol.

But sence im not good in math how am I going to be able to complete my pre-requisites like Chem. Biology ect. since it takes advanced math knowledge to even pass those course's.

And, do I absolutly HAVE TO take college math course's, like College Algebra, Cal., Trigonometry ect. ?

Remember, I dont even know how to do high school Algebra .... 🙁

Please give me advice....

And give me brutal honesty....(bottom line im willing to work HARD for this)

you'll have to go as high as calculus 1 for most schools and some calculus 2. also, there's a significant amount of math in many of the pre-requisites including physics and chemistry. math is going to be very important, especially in your undergraduate degree, so definitely start with a lower course and move your way up to calculus. good luck 👍

Physics is probably the most math-intensive subject (other than math, of course). You will absolutely need to know algebra. You will probably also need to know derivatives and integrals. There's just no way arround it-you will need to learn college-level math. Don't stress...I was a former art major that graduated from engineering school with honors. If I can do math, you can, too.

You can do it! Community Colleges are great at assessing a student's level and helping you get up to par in your weak areas. Go talk to your college advisor and sign up for some remedial math classes. You will probably be taking a math class each semester and in summer school this year to get up to speed so you can begin your science pre-reqs. Relax, take a deep breath, you will be fine.
