Hello everyone! First of all I wanted to thank everyone for this board... I have learned a lot from browsing through every day, and I just wanted to let those who help others out that they are appreciated. Ok here's my deal... After this semester, I will have 7 credit hours to go until I graduate from the community college I am currently attending. My grades are pretty good so far and I expect to graduate with around a 3.7-3.8 gpa. My plan was to take the 7 credits this summer and transfer to a university in the fall. But, I am having a very difficult time deciding where I'd like to go next year. I do not want to decide on a particular school now just because I'm running out of time. So, I was thinking about taking the 7 credits next fall, instead of this summer, therefore buying myself a little time to make a decision about where to transfer that is less rushed and that I am more comfortable with. Ok, now that the background has been estabilished  I am 23 years old, and it has taken me 3 years to finish community college for various reasons. Would I be better off just making a decision and living with it for the next two years, or would waiting one more semester be better? My concern is that med school admission committees might look with disdain at how long I have taken to finish school. I'm sorry for the rambling. Thanks 🙂

It took me 5 1/2 years to finish college with the extra premed courses required. I was an engineering major so there wasnt a whole lot of overlap between the curriculums.

So, I wouldnt worry about taking longer. I was never asked anything about why it took me longer to finish college than most people.

Take the time to make a good decision on where to transfer.

I was in the same boat as you a couple weeks ago, I decided to go to my original undergrad boost up that GPA and transfer again.
I think you need to decide what factors helped you achieve your great GPA. Was it small classes, the professors, whatever it was I think that that should be your criteria in choosing your undergrad.
As far as waiting till fall, I don't think you have to wait that long. Do your research and talk to the admissions staff. Generally the application date for transfer students is much later than for the incoming freshmen.
Good Luck its a pretty big desicion.
PS Does anyone think going to 3 schools for undergrad is a bad decision as far as my application to Med School? (1 being CC)
