Advice Needed!!!

So I know I have posted on here before but I really dont know if I should apply this year. My wife thinks I should but I dont know if I have everything. So I have cgpa 3.4, sgpa 3.6, but no mcat yet. I thought to take the mcat after taking orgo chem 2 which isnt until spring 2012 so thats why Im leaning towards next year application. However that puts me behind a year. I have a wife, daughter and son on the way. I have worked full time through 3 years of college to support my family. I work as a nursing aide on surgical floor (about 6 mths), before that I worked wherever I could make the most and get health insurance 🙂. I have shadowed a MD and will be shadowing a DO enough to get LOR by August. I have 75+hrs of volunteering at our church which I am very involved in. I could study all summer and take the MCAT in Sept. BUT with my stats would that be too late? Should I wait and up my ECs and apply next year? Im really nervous about the mcat. Thanks for any input!

With your stats and a solid MCAT score, you would get in somewhere next year if you applied asap. However, you're trading off being more selective with schools as well. You would probably have at least a few more choices if you waited a year and had everything in before June. Where do you want to get in? Where are you and your family located?
