I have 2 solid volunteering experiences, 2 research experiences, 1 publication, and 1 oral presentation currently listed on ERAS. I was heavily involved in these things and can easily talk about them. However when looking at charting the outcomes, it seems that the average for most matched applicants is around 6 volunteer, 2 research, 2 work experiences, and 3 oral presentations. How important is this section on ERAS, and how much would it hurt not having too many things to list there? I can add a bunch of things I did in undergrad to this section but I really feel its irrelevant right now. I would not be able to talk as easily about those things and it would be something to just fluff up my resume. By the way I am an average US MD medical student, applying to internal medicine.

What charting outcome is this you speak of? Which specialty?

I'm adding stuff from undergrad AND before (in fairness, it's from a place which turns heads and where I have since returned to). :naughty:

Clarification: turns heads cause ppl wonder how a ***** like me could wind up there...

Dang... I was hoping for a good story.

"My road to medicine began quite unexpectedly in The Golden Cheetah Club... and now that med school is drawing to a close I've begun an exhaustive research project back at the place where my love for medicine began..."

Sounds better than 95% of the personal statements I get to read.
