Advice on bouncing back from a murphy's law semester?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you can provide documentation (primarily for the illness), look into whether you can appeal for a retroactive withdrawal from your Chem class by talking to a dean or advisor. Sometimes universities do the right thing.

Secondary essays often provide an opportunity to explain a blip in your academic road.

You may need to wait until after senior year or after a fifth year to apply in order to get your GPA into a more competitive range. But no matter what, "making the mess right" starts with getting near-straight As from now on.

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I wanted to say thank you for the advice! My university just retroactively withdrew me from the class, and I would have never known it to be possible if you hadn't suggested it. :wow:

I can't thank you enough!

Thought it would improve more, but it is now a 3.23. I do plan on staying another year to bring up my GPA.

Still a lot of ground to make up.
