Hey I just took the dat and i didn't score high on it..I had an AA of 14 and a TS of 15. What are my chances of getting into any schools in america? i have a gpa of 3.40...I do want to go to Meharry or Marquette plus i'm african american...but please if you know any school that will accept this.

Hate to say it but you need to retake. DAT scores are getting very competitive now when it comes to applying to dental school. With a 3.4 GPA you really should be aiming for 20+ on your DAT.

Is 3.4 your science GPA?

your definitely going to need a retake. An AA of 14 puts you quite below the 50th percentile so no school is going look kindly at a 14AA unfortunately.

The good news is your GPA is sufficient but with that GPA you will need to score around a 20/20 on the DAT. Dust yourself off and prepare again. This time get suggestions from your peers on how to study. Your scores were very low so it's possible you rushed to take the DAT and you did not put in enough study time.

Wishing the best..

What exactly went wrong?

How long did you study for it? What resources did you use? What did your practice scores look like? Did you feel unprepared just before your exam date but went for it regardless?

If your AA/TS had been 18 you would've stood a chance with a 3.4 GPA. A slightly tough sell numbers-wise but a chance nonetheless. You have time to rewrite the exam concurrent with this upcoming application cycle. Take the exam again or save your money applying this cycle.
