Advice on how to list research...

I could really use opinions.

On a secondary, the question is do I have any published research.

I did work on a published research paper, and I am listed on it. However, I am clearly not the primary. I am actually so far down the line I think they are implying that I was part of the clean up crew. 😀

On one hand I think well, I'm not the primary so if I saw yes, they are going to think I'm way over inflating.

But the research project had my professor (a PhD) and about 8 PhD students listed, and myself. How could I have authored it? So, I think they can't mean authored can they?

Your professor or PI valued your contribution enough to include you in the publication. You may not have done the most work (reserved for 1st author) but you contributed. I would go ahead and write about it but clearly state what you contributed/how much you worked/why it was valuable, etc.

I think you should definitely include the paper. If they're asking if you have published research - the honest answer is yes. And it definitely can't hurt. As gastronome said, if you have any doubts, mention what your specific contribution to the project was.

If anything, being included in a publication (even if your'e way at the end of the paper) shows that the Prof judged your contribution worthy enough to be included officially - which can't hurt you.
