It is more then enough time!!!! As you said, you'd have one full night off to study (6-9 like your classes I could assume?). It is recommended 2x or 3x the amount of credit or actual hours of lecture per class, yes. My school states 2 hours study for every credit hour. I am taking 12 credit hours this semester, so I am receommended to study 24 hours each week. A full day! Yikes. I don't study that much. Everyone needing to study will be different. It depends on the demand of each class, each professor, and the syllabus/material. Here are some tips I have learned working two jobs and going to school full time....
-Give yourself breaks. Reward yourself breaks, but ESPECIALLY after long study sessions. We as humans work better with rewards, not punishments.
-PLEASE, give yourself a day off. A day off from school, from work, from all of it if you can afford. Sleep in, recharge, grab lunch out of the house, clean and organize, visit nature. Whatever you need to recharge, unwind, and keep your sanity.
-Since I have no choice but to work and attend school, I try to keep a strict schedule otherwise. For me, it just gives me a sense of control. Also, I'm an adult in charge of my own life and consequences... so when my schedule or plans fall off the rails, I just kind of throw my hands up, realize s&*t happens, and keep doing what I've got to be doing.
-Your car is your friend. Drive time becomes crucial. I snack, I listen to relaxing music, or even listen to recordings of lectures while driving from work/school/home.
-Sleep well. Eat well. Your body is your temple, your engine, and it's all you got to keep you going right now.
-I make smoothies, prepack lunches and dinners. Freeze casseroles and LEARNED to LOVE my crockpot. Dinner cooks in it while I study, rather then slaving over a hot stove.
-Make Studying FUN. As Fun as you can anyways.
I think you can do it. 🙂 Hope some of this might help you see the light.
