Advice on identifying private lenders?

I need to identify a private lender for a sizeable loan for my last year. Any resources worth consulting? Any advice on how to approach this?

Have you looked @ Sallie Mae "Tuition Answer Loan"? You can get a max of $40K per year if you qualify. Hope this helps! Oh, and they don't verify with the school, they just want to see proof of enrollement/class schedule/acceptance letter & a pay check, you have to make at least $15K per year to qualify on your own w/o a co-signer.
