I currently work for a start-up as the Principal Investigator. We are working on submitting grants... if we never make it out of this phase and I have only ever submitted grants but they were never funded, would this still count as "Paid Employment - Medical/Clinical"? The objective of the job is to run IRB research, but if it never gets to that point... will intention count? Haha! I honestly don't know!

No, it won't count as Employment-Medical/Clinical at this time, as you are not interacting with current patients in a helpful way.

Are you applying during this application season, or next year after the job situation has had more time to sort itself out?

I dont think so.... because if that were the case, everyone could put anything on their application because they intend to do it but never do
That does make a lot of sense!

Yeah, I was going over my activity list I made last late last year and when I saw this and where I currently am with the job... yeah, I'm very glad I asked!

No, I'm applying next cycle. Just going over everything yesterday and this came to mind. Thank you!
It is employment but not clinical employment as you have not been close to patients in your employment situation.
Thank you very much, not only for your reply but for all of the help you do for this community. I have been at this for quite a few years and your work has constantly been a beacon for me.
