Advice on optional essay

Hey Guys,

I am applying to UW-Madison, and there is an optional essay. I am lucky in that I am not from a disadvantaged background. But, I have not been able to discuss in detail my volunteer experiences in the AMCAS or required essay. Should I use the optional essay to do so or is it inappropriate content for the essay?

if its a free response go and write to ur hearts content. make sure its good though.
