Advice on Ph.D. programs

I would like to conduct neurological research in relation to music. I am a complete fish out of water in regard to this field and could use any advice I can get about neuro research and Ph.D programs. I have an MA in music theory and I would like to know my options as far as moving ahead with my research goals. Do you have any advice? Thank you so much for your help!

Do you have any research at all? If so how much? What kind? What state do you live in?
