Hi all, I just wanted to get your opinions on some things.

I recently took the Aug MCATs to bring up my scores from April and I sent in my AMCAS in mid-july. So far I've received most of my secondaries back, but I was just wondering if it would be better if I turned in my secondaries after my Aug MCAT scores get to the schools. I would rather not pay the money and get rejected before my scores come in.

Do you know if schools do this or do they truly wait until your scores come in before they evaluate your file? I know some schools that said they would wait, but I'm kinda worried about those $90-$100 secondaries (on top of the $20 for each set of LORs).

I've heard it's better to get your secondary in as soon as possible, so what should I do?

Here's a link to my stats if it helps: "http://mdapplicants.com/viewprofile.php?id=2048 ".

Much thanks in advance, 😀

schools generally wait until august scores come in if you indicated on the amcas that you plan to take the fall mcat. the exception is indiana. They rejected me before my august scores were released and i wrote a letter of complaint to the AAMC and AMCAS because of their irrational bahavior. But definitely send out the secondaries now. everyday you wait can mean the difference between gettin in and not, especially when wait lists are thrown into the picture.

are schools obligated to wait until aug mcats scores come in before they start rejecting you? or is it all just up for grabs?

I'm pretty sure there is no obligation; i think i've seen previous posts where people are unmercifully rejected before having an mcat score.
