I'm an undergrad working on a degree in anthropology (with a concentration in medical anthropology) with minors in biology and english. This is only my freshman year, but I'm 95% sure I want to get a MPH after I graduate.

I'm trying to pick courses for next year and was wondering which courses are especially helpful for getting into/surviving public health schools. I've already taken two semesters of stats, so that's one area I'm pretty sure I'm set on. I'm not really sure which area of public health I'm most interested in, but I want to do some form of health education (maybe in conjunction with maternal/child health or infectious diseases?). I've heard that psych is good for health education programs, but is it necessary? Would human development/family studies be acceptable instead?

Also, which biology courses would be especially useful? I'm planning on taking A&P, parasitology, and microbiology before I graduate; any others?

Are there any other courses that helped any of you when you started working on your MPH?

Thanks!
