DO student registered for usmle on 6/11

Last week- NBME 6 480/217
This week- NBME 7 500/221
uworld past two weeks 65-85%

Should I take step 1 or just cancel/postpone? I want to do allo IM

Ive read through FA twice, Pathoma twice and goljan audio once.

I plan on reading through FA one more time, then cramming all the pharm and quick facts before test day.

Weakness on NBME were Resp, Renal and Repro.

I'm starting to freak out :scared: and can't really concentrate anymore.

ANY advice is appreciated , Thank you in advance
(just try not to be too harsh, might freak out more)

Try NBME 11, 12 or 13. Those are *supposed* to be more representative than 6/7 as far as I know. (Maybe wishful thinking because I did A LOT better on 11 than 7). Hit your weaknesses hard in FA. Maybe even listen to Goljan on those again if audio helps you. Review incorrect answers on uworld.

Otherwise- if you will be very unhappy if your real test score falls in the same range as your practice tests, then postpone. If you'd be happy with a score in that range, don't postpone. But don't expect your score to magically increase on test day.

Thanks for the advice, I guess I'm just gonna go for it.

I'd be happy with 220, I just don't want to get below that, but I guess with two weeks left I can only go up, I think.

I wish all the time I spend worrying would go towards studying.

I'll def take nbme 11 and checkout those kaplan videos

Only you control that.

How did you find Goljan audio in comparison to fa and pathoma? Did the audio add anything in terms of content?

I think you should take one more exam and then decide. Also make sure to look over whatever you need to look over so you CAN'T say that I did not perform well because I hadn't review particular section. That way you will get a true assessment.

I really liked the audio, everything he talks about if either in FA or Pathoma so content is the same but what I liked is that it gets you to think critically because he ties in multiple subjects and concepts and makes connections for you. Plus he emphasizes things in a way you won't forget. He also goes off on tangents though so it is a little time consuming.

If your exam is soon I would say it's not really worth it, if you have 2 months or so It may be helpful.

Got 3 weeks, which of his Audio's do you feel stuck with you the most? I just finished Heme and even though it was a good, a lot of it didn't stick, I'm looking for quick ones that stick esp for Comlex, so was hopin his Repro was on point.

We take our test on the same day.

1. I would read your weak subjects in Goljan's RR Pathology
2. Focus on UWorld questions and take a few notes
3. Study the above notes
4. relax and pray

I'm taking mine the 8th and feel the same way you do. I'm also a DO interested in an allo residency with similar practice scores - my biggest worry is doing worse than those scores, because much less and I would be displeased. I'm trying to just memorize all the little details that tend to trip me up on questions, going through uworld as much as possible. Hopefully this pans out!

I liked most of the audio, obgyn was good, musculoskeletal was good, neuro, resp I liked too. I can't really pinpoint cause I listened to these a month ago there all helpful as an add on resource.

Thanks everyone for the advice and gl to everyone too.

I'm attacking my weak subjects right now, thinking of doing nbme 11 this weekend if I get over 220 it'll be a sign to just go through with it if not I'll probably postpone till after comlex.
