pertinent to this very aggressive troll, who is salivating for my response -- he is basically polluting all of the Family Medicine boards. His last post was at 2 am, shows you how desperate he is for attention here. I know that he has been losing sleep wondering what I am going to say next, I did not imply that I had a job offer that started at $300 K. I said that I have been offered interviews in places where Family Medicine docs can make up to this amount, with the majority of docs making above $200 K in those particular places. He is PMing random people, begging them for their job offers. Is this the norm -- making this much in Primary Care? Probably not, as majority of Primary Care docs start out at around $130K to $140 K and move up. This troll has been around multiple FM discussion boards, basically his ultimate goal in life is to talk as many people out of primary care as possible, he has nothing to lose, he is in the UK working, and has left this country. All that he whines about is low reimbursement in primary care in the United States Health care system, is this going to change anytime soon? Probably not. Are the specialists going to feel the hit also? Probably. Does this mean more money in Primary Care which will trickle down? Probably not. The underlying problem, is that society thinks that doctors make a whole lot of money. Why does the General Surgeon charge $10,000 or more to cut off the diabetic foot, and the primary care provider gets paid not nearly as much to prevent it from happening in the first place? This is the state of health care. This is the way that it has been for years. It is a broken record that is seemingly never going to be adjusted appropriately. Actually the direction health care seems to be moving into is to cut expenditures, no matter what the cost of pure quality healthcare. Preventive medicine is not at all appreciated -- it is "right now" surgeries and procedures, and care. Such as these "robots" rounding on patients. Purely and simply ridiculous. Then again, these budget cuts will affect everyone, so why even worry about it. It is ridiculously easy to get a job, and a reasonably well paying one at that, in Family Medicine. Only one individual, whom is no longer going to practice medicine in the United States, is so obsessed with "this doctor makes more" that the whole image of Family Medicine becomes obscured. I think that this character has been around these boards for a very long time, trying to start fights with people, and he is finally disgruntled, and has left the country. Why he is still posting here? Nothing better to do. You left, get over it. Actually, if Family Medicine is going out of business, then why is it so easy to find a job? And why are US grads still signing up? Shouldnt the Dean of US medical schools just say to his students -- "look everyone, no longer will there be jobs or opportunity in Primary Care, better choose Anesthesiology or Surgery, and forget about Primary Care". Just makes you wonder doesnt it.
