Hi SDN,

I am scheduled to take the MCAT on May 31. I've been studying since the end of January and I am still struggling with my practice exams. I've been scoring in the high teens and low 20's range. I search this site from head to toe to find something that would help me study better and I feel like I am studying wrong. Any advice?

Don't have any advice for you, but just wanted to let you know that you are not the only one still struggling :/

I was still struggling earlly April when my test was for May 12th. I decided to postpone until July 6th because I was scoring low to mid 20s and I want a 30+ and nothing less. I have taken it twice before without being serious, so now I have to show what I am made of. Standardized test come easier to some people, but to me I know I have to work 5x harder because I was never good at these type tests anways.

Once you have done content, just practice passages and review them. Eventually, you will get the hang of it and then take another practice test to gauge where you are. I would suggest postponing. It's better to study well and score well the 1st time than to keep having to study for it. Try to change your mindset. It's easier said than done TRUST ME! I feel defeated all the time, but you have to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and TRY AGAIN.

What are you using to study? I decided to get BR's Physic and Gen Chem. I feel like kicking myself now, because I have TBR Gen Chem and they give great tips for coming up with answers (TEST-TAKING SIDE). Plus I used TPRH for content review and have all the practice material like Science Workbook (great resource) to get additional passage practice. I've also learned that I still suck at physics (used EK and TPRH) but hopefully TBR can remedy it. When you review try to recognize weaknesses. I learned that I may know something really well but the passage-type questions throw me for a loop, so I decided to practice more with passages. Let me know if I can be of assistance. You can PM if you like.
