Dear all,

My goal is to achieve a 520 MCAT, but currently keep getting 513-514 practice test results from multiple companies including the official AAMC. I’ve done a basic concept review for all the sections alr. My weakest sections are Chemical and Physical Foundations and CARS both with 127/128 scores depending on the practice test. So please let me know any tips that would get me above this level for those 2 lagging sections and/or the exam as a whole. Also considering I have a 3.93 gpa for bachelors, please lmk what’s the min competitive MCAT score I should have to be safe for MD school acceptance.

Thanks all,

Sadly, there is no "safe" MCAT score. A single MCAT at or above the median for your state public school(s) is a good goal...for most states.

For CP, you really need to hone in on the content you're getting wrong. I pushed myself from a 128/129 to a 131/132 in that section through content review, practice questions, improve techniques, and repeat. You can grab a few points from that section more easily than B/B or P/S due to it being formula heavy and graph heavy.

Personally, I would highly recommend doing UWorld and the Aidan MCAT deck. Aidan is great for physics concepts, BB, and PS. UWorld will really drill C/P, and it will carry you to a 130+. For CARS, I would recommend the CARS QPack and Diagnostic tool.

The Benouni deck is the best for CP. It has thousands of conceptual questions and explanations that focus as much on content as they do strategy.
