I know there are many posts about this topic but programs change every year. Does anyone have any experiences with any of the following programs (i.e. you attended or interviewed there)?

AEGD - San Antonio, TX (UT Health)
AEGD - Augusta, GA
AEGD - VA Orlando, FL
GPR - VA Philidelphia, PA
GPR - Albert Einstein Medical Center, PA
AEGD - VA Med Ctr Birmingham, Alabama
GPR - VA Med Ctr Gainesville, FL
GPR - Palmetto, SC
GPR - VA Boston Healthcare, MA
GPR - VA Med Ctr - Washington, DC
AEGD - MUSC, SC
AEGD - UB, NY

If you have any recommendations on programs I have not listed, please feel free to include them. I'm mainly trying to stay on the East Coast but I am open minded. I GREATLY appreciate anyone who takes the time to respond.

Thank you! :)

Hi everyone! I hope you all are staying safe and sane during these unprecedented times... I'm a current D3 who is in the midst of researching AEGD/GPR programs to apply for this summer, and unfortunately COVID has ruined the ability to visit any of these programs prior to applying:(

***SPECIFIC THINGS I'D LIKE TO KNOW***
- What was the assistant/resident ratio? Are you always guaranteed an assistant for procedures?
- Your impression of the city and location? Safe environment? Activities? Cost of living?
- Weaknesses in the program? Strengths?
- Does this program allow you to gain experience placing implants, or just restore them?
- How are the attendings/program directors?
- Specialists - are they visiting or are they always available?
- How's the resident dynamic? Social? Friends? Team environment or Every Musketeer for his/herself?
- *Is there a call schedule? How often?
- Courses: Mandatory CE? Exams? Research?

Thank you! :)

Look into UF St. Pete. Great program with plenty of experience with surgery/implants/endo/pros and you get A LOT of exposure to Dawson.

What class rank do you generally need for good VA programs? Also I'm curious, what do you know about the MUSC AEGD to make it to your list?
