I think we should wait till mid November for UConn. Maybe you can write the secretary of the programs you applied to when you could be expecting their invite.
I applied to Rochester(but i was closed out on interview dates, so my application will be entertained next year), Marquette, Lutheran Medical Center AZ and MA, Howard University.
Doctors, kindly post and update if you hear anything from them.
Thank You.
hello.nice post.Just wanted some information on the UCLA preceprotship program. What is it about and what kind of work do u do?Did u find it useful? How expensive was it?thank you. And in marquette , i tought one needed part 2 scores also in order to be considered for AEGD.Is that correct?
Hi All,
Can nyone tell if we can apply to Lutheran AZ, Boston without having part 2 scores.
Butterbrush u hv applied to these progs, can u provide sm more info on this..
Thanks
Hi Guys!! its great to have someone else to share information on this application process. my stats
GPA : 3.0
Toefl: 111
NBDE: 82
i have 3 years experience. Thank you for sharing your stats also. Hopefully we will all get into the program. I will pray for you as well. if you know anything or get the invitation for an interview let me know please!!
hi! the tuition for the preceptorship program is $4,500 per quarter for the Endo, perio, pros, surgery preceptorship program. for esthetics and ortho it is much higher and it is mandatory you complete 1 year of study. you can go here for more info http://uclasod.dent.ucla.edu/admissions/index.asp?id=388
You cannot treat any patients tho.. but you do get to go to all the classes of the residents and assist them during surgeries. Also, you can attend the continuing education courses available on the quarter of your enrollment. In endo, I did a lot of simulator cases and practiced on typodont teeth and got to try out all the different file systems. I really learned a lot here but it is up to you to make the most out of your program. I am finding it very useful as I get to share what i learned here in my country🙂
what program do you think of doing?
oh.. yes i took the part 2 boards as well but my score is not good. 🙁 75 only.
To be honest... this delay in responding to our applications is not a good sign ,,, and so far people have been getting interview calls and even some schools already had their interviews,,
so far i only had rochester interivew...
and had many rejections,,
and have heard from the rest ..
what surprises me, that there is no rule for this...
some ppl. scored about 90's and ended up with no interviews,,
and i know people as low as 82,, and ended up being accepted into programs,,,
so we dont really know what to expect.. we just need to pray hard and keep trying and believing that we will get there one day..
can you apply with part I only ?
Sherif please give you your email i'm egyptian too where you live in us?
yess!!!!!!! i did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi!!!!!!!!1 i got an interview invitation !!!!!!!! i am very happy to have this opportunity guys!!!!! i still have to make travel arrangements but i will let you know when i will be having it!!!!! this is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🙂
From my experience, I can confirm that delay in responding is not a good sign at all, since most of them don't bother sending rejection letters at all.
Don't be surprised, scores are not everything. As an FTD, you gotta have all of these: high boards, US experience, high GPA, LOR, and most importantly connections. Go visit some schools and you will see what I'm talking about.
Good luck.
Sorry....but I don't think this is true. Im doing an AEGD program and is amazing! with all ur boards in ur pocket and a proper visa status u can get ur license...plus u have a prerry good chance 2 get into a specialty program if u want 2 do it. If u guys want 2 do an AEGD program I say go 4 it!Trust me on this..do DDS or DMD. That is one degree no one can take away from you and ur lic. in all over north america including canada; obviously after taking the boards.
AEGD/GPR are good for training afterwards OR if your doing it to get into DDS for international students.
I already have a DDS,. But if you have any questions with international DDS programs/or AEGD programs I can help you.
Hi Dr. butterbrush!! congratulations again, I am scheduled for december 4th, I will tell how I did as soon as I can. If you have any information on how is the interview please let me know. Good luck to you!!
