This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hello friends,

I have a question. I applied to Rochester and my application reached there on 23 Aug. I am seeing post of people who said all the interview dates are already full. I tried calling university but went on voice mail. I am worried. As all the interview dates are already full does that mean I dont stand any chance to get interviewed. Please reply I am very worried.

I have read in the thread that all the interview dates are full... This years the people to be interviewed were selected between all the applicants. This is what I heard.

I have an interview on Oct. 5th, and I was just wondering does Univ. of Rochester offer a DMD or DDS?

None, U of R does not have undergrad. AEGD gives u a certificate equivalent to a DDS.

Where can I find the info regarding AEGD programs and would I be eligible to practice in CA with AEGD completion as I am weighing whether to apply for AEGD programs or not.

Can anyone point to info regarding AEGD programs. It will be a great help for me.

Hello everyone!

I contacted Marilyn Foy by email to know if my complete application materials arrived and she answered that they arrived on Aug 18th.
The deadline is Sep 1st and she didn't tell me anything regarding the interviews being already filled.
But like you say they are, I hope that after the deadline they open more interviews.

Hey Xander25, are you a resident at this time? How would you rate the AEGD at UR? How would you rate research at UR?

Regards,

I'm also confused about the tuition for the AEGD program... Is it free of charge? I couldn't find any information on the site... if you know smth, pls share!!

Hi Xander 25,

Thank you so much for your help & advices regarding about this AGED program.I read most of your posts. Thanks for your patiens.👍

Since you are in the program, thought you are the right person to approach.can u plz help me in this question.

The question is :

yes, we dont need to have NBDE scores to get in to this AGED program at EDC ,but after finishing this AGED program wether we need to have nbde scores to take state board or Nerb,Werb exams to get licence to practice .😕Your response will be much appreciated.Thank you.🙂

That's right, u will need your NBDE I and II to get ur license, however there is no need of state board , werb or nerb for NY instead you need one more year of education in a program like GPR.

Any one applying for both AEGD and MS???

Regards

Can anyone please explain what is GPR? where can you take it?

Btw, interview goes really well, no stress. One thing - try to get there as early as possible. They will invite you before those who was scheduled before you, but came later than you.

mariocf70 and Xander25 thanks for both your answers!

So, as far as I understood, after both AEGD and DDS one would need to go tor GPR to be able to practice. But with DDS it is easier to get there?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, feel really confused with the whole system...)

hi guys! i just wanted to share my experience. I had my interview on the 14th of September. It went really well. The people there are very nice! First they put you in a room with everyone else who will be interviewing that day. Which kind of helps because if you're a little nervous this gives you a chance to talk to everyone else and kind of relax a little. You will be interviewed by the director, whom is very nice but a little short on his questions. I thought he'd ask harder questions. He basically asked about the dental school you graduated in, why you chose to study dentistry and where you see yourself in 5 years.
Then you get interviewed by Dr. Yunker whom is the assistant program director for the AEGD. He is VERY nice and asks more questions than the director. Basically the same questions but he'll also ask you to tell him a bit more about yourself and what specialy you like the most. It was a good experience, they are a bit disorganized right now because they are renovating, but it seems like a really good program.
Good luck to everyone and God Bless!

Hi everyonw,

quick question. The infamous where do you see yourself in 5 years question. Do you think they will not like if you reply u want to go into another specialization program such as OMFS after finishing AEGD? For me thats the case, I want to apply to OMS after AEGD. I dont intend to lie, but I dont want them to think im using their program... know what I mean?
