Current dental student about to graduate in 2020. I'm near the bottom of my class rank wise and have not gotten close to any dental faculty so my LOR are most likely poor. After dental school, I'm interested in applying to an AEGD program or maybe GPR program that is more prosthodontic heavy, however after researching on the forum, a lot of people have been recommending VA programs that are also hard to get into. Are there any post-grad programs with prost/ implant placement for the mediocre? Should I just apply for a job? I'm ok with any location as long as I learn from the program.

I think you should stop hunting for a "mediocre" placement and figure out what you can do to strengthen yourself prior to applying. Obviously you can't do much about your class rank; however, if you take some initiative and approach faculty and look for the opportunities, then they should present themselves. A lot of times it's not what you know, but who you know..
Are you going to get into the most competitive program? Probably not with a really low class rank. But, if you go into the application process aiming low, I can promise you that you will be disappointed.
